High Transparency Silicone Rubber for Molding
High Transparency 6.0Mpa Tensile Strength Vulcanized VMQ Silicone Rubber for Molding
DESCRIPTION
When we talk about transparent rubber, we are referring to vulcanized rubber that can transmit light. Based on the level of transparency, it is classified as either transparent or semi-transparent. Transparent rubber can transmit most or all of the visible light, like glass. In contrast, semi-transparent rubber can only transmit a portion of the visible light, leading to a relatively dark and cloudy color. To achieve transparency, transparent rubber must meet three conditions.
Firstly, the raw rubber must be transparent, especially after vulcanization.
Secondly, when combined with rubber and plastic, the chosen plastic should be a polymer with low crystallinity or an amorphous structure, and the solubility parameters of the selected polymer materials should be similar to ensure compatibility.
Thirdly, all additives must have a refractive index similar to that of rubber, and they should not impact the transparency of the rubber. The blending agent must be light-colored, highly pure, and transparent to avoid producing colored pollutants that could react with rubber, plastic, or other blending agents. Finally, the process conditions such as temperature, pressure, and blending conditions should not alter the original optical properties of rubber and admixtures.
