Common Silicone Rubber for Molding&Extrusion
DESCRIPTION
This product can undergo basic processing after adding the vulcanizing agent "Double 2, 4." When subjected to appropriate technical conditions, it doesn't require a second vulcanization step. The final product boasts exceptional characteristics like arc and corona resistance, high and low-temperature resistance, and electrical insulation. This makes it a perfect material for various applications, including heat-resistant seals, electrical wire and cable, electrical insulator parts, foam strips, and irregularly shaped rubber tubes.

FAQ
1. Q: What is the difference between high-consistency and liquid silicone rubber for molding and extrusion?
A: High-consistency silicone rubber requires heat and pressure to cure and is typically used in compression molding, while liquid silicone rubber is cured by an addition reaction and is commonly used in injection molding.
2. Q: What are the typical applications of silicone rubber in molding and extrusion?
A: Silicone rubber is commonly used for gaskets, seals, O-rings, and other molded or extruded products that require excellent heat resistance, chemical resistance, and flexibility.
3. Q: What is the recommended curing temperature for silicone rubber in molding and extrusion?
A: The recommended curing temperature for silicone rubber depends on the specific grade and application, but it is typically between 150°C and 200°C for high-consistency silicone rubber and between 120°C and 180°C for liquid silicone rubber.
4. Q: Are there any special considerations for designing molds and dies for silicone rubber molding and extrusion?
A: Yes, silicone rubber has unique flow and cure characteristics that require careful consideration when designing molds and dies. For example, silicone rubber may require venting or special gating to ensure proper flow and minimize air entrapment. The material's low viscosity and high elasticity also require close attention to mold and die design to ensure consistent part quality.
