Product Description

Phenyl Silicone Rubber

225°C Temp Resistant Phenyl Silicone Rubber PVMQ 8Mpa Tensile Strength

PROPERTIES

The fundamental form of silicone is known as dimethyl silicone, polydimethylsiloxane, or MQ. However, most silicone elastomers contain a small percentage (0.1% to 1.0%) of vinyl to act as cure sites in the polymer, which is why it is called "V". The backbone of every silicone elastomer is entirely saturated, which results in outstanding heat resistance. Due to the regularity of the polydimethylsiloxane chains, VMQ (vinyl methyl silicone) has a fast crystallization rate at low temperatures of around -40°C. To enhance its low-temperature performance, PVMQ (phenyl vinyl methyl silicone) is created by adding a small amount of phenyl (3 to 7 mole percent).

ADVANTAGES

The most notable feature of this material is its flexibility in extremely high and low temperatures, making it suitable for operations within a range of -90 °F to +500 °F. Additionally, by combining phenyl silicone with silicone and fluorosilicone elastomers, we can enhance the properties of the overall material.

DISADVANTAGES

This material exhibits inadequate gas impermeability and is not resistant to hydrocarbon-based fuels, aromatic hydrocarbons like benzene and toluene, low molecular weight silicone oils, strong acids, and alkalis. It is also considered mechanically weak.
